JOB DESCRIPTION of Korea CAE
●TITLE : Corporate Applications Engineer (CAE)
●LOCATION : Korea Office
●ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical & Engineering Support of Customers via phone, local website’s Q/As, e-mail and webticket
This is the primary directive of the CAE. By clarifying device & development tools operation and removing technical barriers for customers, you help to solve customer’s technical challenges with complicated and time-critical solutions through local phones, e-mails, local website’s Q/As, direct visit and webtickets. Through your contact with customers and their issues, you will identify problems that exist with development tools and silicon, and provide that feedback to the silicon applications and development tools groups appropriately.
Technical Documentation Support
Proofread the results of translation of technical documentation such as data sheets, brochures, application notes and news, and assist with MARCOM’s translation processes. The translated material needs to be proofread for technical accuracy and quality. Also to stimulate understanding of our products and tools, and to help and expand our customers and students, you assist in publishing technical or reference textbooks and engineering documents such as application notes.
Technical Training Support
Assist FAEs and give technical training to customers and DFAEs through the Regional Training Center, Korea MASTERs, and training design houses on Microchip products and tools hands-on sessions. This effort would also include the development of training material and continuous self-study for learning new skills and improvement of existing skills.
University Program
Develop University relationships through the Microchip Scholarship program and giving lectures about Microchip microcontrollers and new products. For making our future engineers and customers, you will give lectures and technical seminars to Universities, and follow up with Microchip design contests for University students. Meet with professors and inform them of Microchip products, and establish PIC training environments as a preferred microcontroller with our training materials.
Local website’s Activity
Manage the technical Database and Q/As on the local website and follow up with uploading technical materials, Create and upload reference application notes for popular devices and applications. Report and summarize the status of customer activity on the local web site.
●KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s(required) or Master’s degree in Electrical engineering or Electronic engineering or other relevant engineering major
- New College Graduate(preferred) or 1~2 years of experience with microcontroller-based system development or design
- Working knowledge of hardware, firmware of Electric & Electronic Application Systems
- Good C language skills
- Good at English
●WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires significant local travel and may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.
