Ghent University in Belgium is the first European university to open its extended campus in Songdo, Korea. Ghent University Global Campus introduces world's highest level of academic programs (bachelor’s degree) which include Molecular Biotechnology, Environmental Technology, and Food Technology.

The university had its grand opening ceremony on Sep 1, 2014.

 

Listing Info

The Administration assistant will organize and support administrative activities to ensure that the university offices run smoothly.

 

Examples of duties include:

 

1) Faculty & Campus support of Academic Staff

- Translating English Korean and vice versa

- Duties related staff e.g. VISA, alien registration card application, travelling issues, banking issues

- Faculty apartments & apartment facilities management

- Faculty related work, faculty guidebook

 

2) External affairs support

- Support relations with Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority(IFEZA),

Incheon Global Campus Foundation(IGCF), Ministry of Education(MoE), Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy, SPC

- Order office furniture, computers (part of IGCF, SPC work)

- Other external affairs related work

 

3) Other work

- Storage Management

 

Required skills

- A university degree in Business administration preferred (however, not limited)

- Fluent in both English and Korean (overseas education is a plus)

- Experience with Microsoft Office applications

- People and presentation skills

- Organizational skills

- Ability to handle many assignments simultaneously

- Ability to work individually and as part of a team

- Driving skills (driver’s license required)

 

Position Description

- 1 position, entry level (+0.5 - 2 years of work experience)

- Full-time, 6 months probation period

- Weekend work may be required in case of major school events (recuperation days will be provided)

- Dormitory is available for staff members to use (offered at a discount; not covered by the university)

- Holidays: 15 business days apart from winter vacation (about 5 business days)

- Expected to join in early August, 2015
